The Radix Community Council is a community-driven initiative dedicated to promoting the awareness and adoption of Radix, fostering a vibrant ecosystem, and supporting projects that are onboard to the Radix network.
Key Activities:
1. Collaborations
a) Carbon Tokenomics Model**
– **Project Overview**: Radix founder Dan Hughes is developing a pioneering blockchain-based prototype designed to reduce the carbon footprint of global tourism. Radix was selected for this initiative due to its unique infrastructure capabilities, which no other blockchain could provide. This project is a collaboration with the **Therme Group** and the **University of Surrey Blockchain Metaverse Academy (SABMA)**.
– **Research Insights**: The research paper on this Carbon Tokenomics Model highlights Radix’s consensus protocol as superior to other networks, including Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche.
– **Read More**: Check out the research paper on MDPI Sustainability and the Cointelegraph feature here.
b) Partnership with NOWNodes**
– **About NOWNodes**: NOWNodes provides blockchain-as-a-service, offering access to full nodes and blockbook explorers via API. With Radix Mainnet RPC support, developers and businesses can easily interact with on-chain data, send requests, and perform transactions on the Radix network.

These gatherings have been a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness, showcase projects, and connect with the broader community. We’ve also been fortunate to have support from project owners within the Radix ecosystem who join us to share their insights and experiences.
In addition to major events, we frequently arrange local meetups where the events take place—sometimes at a bar or other casual settings—where Radix enthusiasts can gather, network, and celebrate the growth of our ecosystem. These events have become a cornerstone of our community engagement, fostering camaraderie and deepening our shared commitment to Radix.
Recently Radix Community Council attended the European Blockchain Event in Barcelona between 25-26 September and sponsored the Hackathon, please take a look at this recap video and blog (https://radixecosystem.com/news/european-blockchain-convention-25-26-september-recap).
